Ford International Airport Launches New Website to Showcase Multi-Million Dollar Capital Expansion Program, Elevate

Site highlights one of the largest capital expansion programs in the U.S. for a small-hub Airport

Grand Rapids, Michigan, September 6, 2022 – The Gerald R. Ford International Airport unveiled its new Elevate website to provide users with the most up-to-date information on the projects included in its capital expansion program. The newly designed site offers visitors an interactive and visually appealing way to learn about the Ford International Airport’s plans to modernize and enhance the guest experience through diverse infrastructure improvement projects.

The website was created by the Airport’s marketing partner, Extra Credit Projects. Key features of the site include project highlights, upcoming partnership opportunities, current partners involved in the program, the economic impact of each project, the Airport’s sustainability initiative, and news and events related to the program.

“Our goal with this website is to provide our valued guests and partners with an easier way to learn about the work we are doing under the Elevate program,” said Tory Richardson, president and CEO of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority. “Our team is excited about the impact Elevate will have on our community and on our ability to further connect West Michigan to the world.”

Infrastructure improvement projects under the Elevate program include a relocated air traffic control tower, the expansion of Concourse A, the addition of a federal inspection station, expanded ticket counters, upgraded checked baggage inspection technology, enhanced rental car capabilities and additional parking infrastructure.

No local taxpayer dollars will be used to finance any of the projects included in the Elevate program, which will be paid for with a combination of federal and state grants, municipal bonds issued by the airport, and user fees.
